In
September 2003
two Renault Master vehicles joined the the First Midland
Red fleet. The vehicles were owned by the Passenger Fleet Transport Unit of
Worcestershire County Council. The buses were part of a
batch of vehicles that were purchased using money from a
successful Rural Bus Challenge bid to the Department for
Transport in 2001. As part of the County Council's
strategy to improve public transport a network of low
floor bus services were introduced under the brand
name of easyLink. To compliment these services a
number of feeder services were also introduced
using the brand name of easyLink Flexi. The easyLink
Flexi routes were operated by a fleet of 15-seat Rohill Harrier bodied Renault Master vehicles on a
demand responsive basis. Users were required to book journeys via a centralised and dedicated County Council booking line on
08457 125 436. On 18th September 2003 First Midland Red
starting operating the new services 954 and 955 routes
between Evesham and Pebworth using the two vehicles.
The 954 and 955 services were withdrawn as part of the
26th February 2006 bus service changes and the two Rohill vehicles
were returned to the County Council in March 2006.
After trading in a period of administration Rohill
finally closed in October 2005 and all production of
their various accessible minibuses mainly based on the
Renault Master chassis ended.
